Geburtshaus Ingolstadt opened in 2002 — the first birth centre of its kind in the region.
As a centre for self-determined birth and primary health care, we support you and your family with experience, expertise and heart.
In the heart of Ingolstadt you will find a protected space where pregnancy, birth and the weeks that follow are treated as natural processes and accompanied with care. An experienced team of midwives, doulas, course leaders, therapists, naturopaths and other specialists is reliably at your side.

In safe hands from the very start
Birth is first and foremost a natural process, not a medical problem. Birth needs attentiveness, restraint, quiet, respect, intimacy and privacy — together with the highest level of skill and empathy, paired with experience and intuition.
You will find all of this at your birth centre, with a midwife you know and trust who stays with you through every high and low. Your birth centre is there for you from the beginning of pregnancy until the end of breastfeeding — and beyond.
Safety comes first — in good hands, at every moment
Short distances. Clear procedures.
Sometimes things take a different turn and we decide together to move the birth to the nearby hospital. We make sure the handover to the labour ward team on duty runs smoothly.
We always accompany you during a transfer, and in almost every case it happens calmly and by car rather than by ambulance. Our birth centre is just under 2 km from the hospital.
That short distance allows for the highest possible level of safety.

From ovulation to graduation — well, not quite, but certainly until the end of breastfeeding:
