At the birth centre, at home or in hospital — the choice is yours, and we help you find the path that fits you and make an informed decision.
In a calm, protected setting we offer you personal, whole-person care — through pregnancy, through the birth and into the weeks that follow. We take time for you and make sure you feel safe, strong and well looked after.

Midwife and founder of Geburtshaus Ingolstadt

In 2014 the insurance situation for midwives attending births became so acute that I started a petition to the German Bundestag. With more than 423,000 signatures behind it, on 23 June 2014 I was invited to a hearing before the Petitions Committee in Berlin.
In 2015 I received the Werner Bonhoff Prize for this commitment to midwifery care that reaches everyone who needs it.
Geburtshaus Ingolstadt came close to closing several times — for want of midwives, because of insurance problems and for other reasons.
In 2025 we are making a fresh start, with plenty of energy and anticipation. Let me say it once more: Geburtshaus Ingolstadt is staying exactly where it is, and it is here for you in newly designed rooms and with a much wider range of services.
You can find those additional services at, among others, www.lebensraum-ingolstadt.de.
Areas of focus:
- Antenatal check-ups
- Out-of-hospital midwifery care
- Postnatal care
- Salutogenesis
- Physiology

German, English, French, Italian
I was born in Germany in 1962 and stayed there until I finished school. Then life took me to London. I married there and trained as a teacher, with a bachelor's degree in French and Spanish.
After the home birth of my second child, which was a wonderful experience, I decided to help other women to births like it, and I studied midwifery in London, taking a bachelor's degree in the subject.
After decades as a midwife specialising in high-risk pregnancies and home births at King's College Hospital in London, I came to Geburtshaus Ingolstadt, where I was privileged to attend the most beautiful births of my career.
In 2022 I moved to Cologne to care for my father. I worked there as a freelance midwife, including for the city's two birth centres.
In 2024 I was appointed as a lecturer in midwifery at Fulda University. But then I decided to return to hands-on midwifery and to work with Sabine again at Geburtshaus Ingolstadt, helping women and their partners to a pregnancy and birth on their own terms.
What I offer you:
- Preparation classes
- Antenatal examinations
- Out-of-hospital midwifery care
- Newborn examinations
- After the birth & follow-up care
- Postnatal recovery

I was born in Berlin in 1985. The birth of my son in 2012 shaped my working life decisively. Becoming a mother myself, and the care I received from my own midwife, awakened the wish to support women and families through this particular chapter of life.
In 2016 I began training as a midwife at the Charité health academy in Berlin, qualifying in 2019. I then worked as a midwife on the labour wards of the Vivantes Klinikum Am Urban in Berlin and the German Red Cross hospital in Neustrelitz. Since 2022 I have worked entirely self-employed in the Uckermark region, supporting families through pregnancy, birth, the postnatal period and the first months with a child.
September marks a new chapter for me: I am moving to Manching to join my partner, and I am delighted to be part of the team at Geburtshaus Ingolstadt. Here I support families during pregnancy, at the birth and through the weeks that follow.
My work as a midwife also includes birth preparation classes, yoga for birth preparation and postnatal yoga. As a naturopath I work with natural remedies, craniosacral therapy and massage, which often lets me stay with women and their children well beyond pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Since April 2026 I have been studying for a master's degree in sexology, and I have also trained as a pleasure coach. What occupies me most is what body awareness, embodiment and an easy relationship with one's own physicality mean for pregnancy, birth, sexuality and health. In my work I see again and again how much a good connection to your own body can be a resource for self-confidence, relationships and personal growth.
Care that is individual, respectful and looks at the whole person matters to me. I want to support families with real professional skill while leaving room for their own decisions and their own experience.
What I offer you:
- Antenatal care
- Support for births at the birth centre
- Postnatal care
- Birth preparation
- Yoga for birth preparation
- Postnatal yoga
- Naturopathy
- Craniosacral therapy
- Massage
- Breastfeeding support
- Counselling on sexuality, body awareness and relationships
- Support for women and families beyond the postnatal period

Osteopathy & women's osteopathy
Lynn Görmüs, née Mayer
I am a naturopath and osteopath in Ingolstadt, specialising in women's health. Female bodies move through many cycles, and around birth in particular they meet real challenges — and new possibilities. That is why it makes sense to accompany pregnancy and early motherhood osteopathically: to build the body's strength back up and to meet difficulties early.
The osteopathic approach looks at the whole person, and my treatments always take in the entire body, your history and the bond between mother and child.
You are very welcome to bring your baby along to your own appointment.
Some of my areas of focus:
- Pelvic floor
- Pelvic misalignment
- Sciatic, hip and groin pain during pregnancy
- Birth injuries
- Caesarean scars
- Milk ducts and breastfeeding difficulties
- Support while trying to conceive
- Relief for rectus diastasis
- Lymphatic drainage for fluid retention
